8:365 Industrial
This is the old Goodyear plant in Cartersville, Georgia. It was built in the early 1900’s by Edward Lee McClain to make cotton cloth for horse collars. Goodyear purchased the factory in 1928 and used it to manufacture conveyor belts. The plant closed in 2003. This is theme #158 Industrial.

Very cool building! It is amazing all of the lines and designs in this. It is a shame that it isn't being used anymore. Very nice image!

Such history in these old buildings. So much to take in but still pleases the eye.

Clara, what a shame it is to see so many industrial plants being closed. Just a few days ago, my sister-in-law was given notice that her plant would be closing in 60 days. She's 65 years old and has worked in that plant since she was 17 years old! Our economy has to get better!

I love the symmetry of big buildings like these...all the windows nicely aligned. Nice picture!

That's just cool! You did a wonderful job of presenting the elegant side of the decaying building. Factories seem to have been built with so much more character in those days...
