Yes, he was abandoned. He was picked up- cold and hungry- by animal control on a rural Georgia road. The Atlanta Small Dog Rescue took him in and kept him until my daughter saw him and decided to adopt. I admit, I was apprehensive at first about her adopting a grown dog that had had trauma in his life. She has done a good job, however, dealing patiently with some big problems. He is such a sweet, scrappy little soul, and he has made himself a welcome part of our family. Happy ending here. This is theme #5 Abandoned.

I am sure your "jack" was happy you adopted him too - he looks very happy! My hats off to you!
he is such a cutie and he looks so very happy, you have done a good thing by adopting him
Doesn't look abandoned anymore. I always look at older pets as Puppies and Kittens sell themselves, but some of us old fellas need love too
How could someone abandon him, he looks so sweet.
He's adorable, thank goodness he was adopted. Your lucky and so is he and now you have one more photogenic subject.
What a cutie! He certainly looks content! Great photo!
Thank goodness for kindhearted people like you and your daughter! You can eee the gratitude in his eyes. Great photo!
I love happy endings! And this kid looks very happy to have you.
It's a photo with a lot of heart--yours, your daughter's and his. I'm glad I got to see it.
'Jack' certainly looks happy now!
There is something special about adopting an older animal & making their final years happy.

What a lucky dog to have found his way into your family. Cute pic.
Adorable! It always warms my heart to hear an animal has been given a loving home.
Wonderful ending for Jack and your family!
What a lucky little fella! And very cute too...
A gorgeous portrait! And a lovely story to go with it.
Great happy ending - such a beautiful face.
What a sweet dog! His personality radiates from your photograph.
What a great interpretation of this theme. My dogs have all been shelter pets, too. Even with "baggage" they make the best dogs, don't you think?
