It's the end of the first month! 1 down and 11 to go. When I think of letters, I think of the abc's that you put across the chalkboard in school. This is theme # 171 Letters.
I try to look around the Internet often to find new trends in photoshopping. This is a technique that I have seen on flickr and I really like it. You can find textures on flickr that mimic viewfinders complete with sensor dust. It is called ttv or through the viewfinder. Thanks to zonbizi for the texture.

This is my 3rd chosen theme through the viewfinder.
Well, here we are at the end of the first week of our challenge, and I can truthfully say that I have been knocked out of my comfort zone. I tried to get a picture of rain all day yesterday, and I found out that rain is almost impossible to photograph. Water beads on the tree from the vantage point of my deck are also hard. Getting everything in focus without having a lot of clutter in the background is very difficult. The blue in the picture is a giant puddle in my back yard. I never thought that I would say this after 2 years of level 4 drought in Georgia, but I wish that it would stop raining! This is theme #249 Rain, Rain, Go Away!
I wanted to post this picture today because it correlates with yesterday's communication theme. A good old-fashioned hug is a great way to communicate "I love you". This is my first chosen theme- I Love You.
In today’s world, we have all kinds of electronic gadgets and gismos that allow us to communicate with anyone we want . . . anytime we want. There was a time when the rural mail carrier was a very important connection with the rest of the world. He brought letters, dresses, seeds, and even animals to farm families. This is theme #60 Communication.
This is the dashboard of my Daddy's 1965 Chevrolet truck. This was the first new car that Daddy ever bought and the only truck that he ever owned. He drove this truck for more than 30 years. In fact, I learned how to drive sitting behind this very steering wheel. The truck is rusted now, and in true Southern tradition, it is permanently parked down in the pasture. This is theme #64 Controls.
Yes, he was abandoned. He was picked up- cold and hungry- by animal control on a rural Georgia road. The Atlanta Small Dog Rescue took him in and kept him until my daughter saw him and decided to adopt. I admit, I was apprehensive at first about her adopting a grown dog that had had trauma in his life. She has done a good job, however, dealing patiently with some big problems. He is such a sweet, scrappy little soul, and he has made himself a welcome part of our family. Happy ending here. This is theme #5 Abandoned.
A pair of Jacks . . . Jack Russells that is. This is my dog and my daughter's dog, and throwing a ball to both of them did not work out. You just know that a pair of Jack Russells calls for a pint of Jack Daniels. This is theme #4 A Pair of . . .
This is me and this is my first post for the 365 Challenge in 2009. I am very excited. You will find my posts here and on flickr. If you click on this image, you will be directed to my photostream on flickr. I am looking forward to improving my photography skills and recording my life this year. This is theme #232 Photograph.
