63:365 Out of Date

63:365 Out of Date
My mom likes to go to yard sales and she bought me a whole box of old Workbasket Magazines. I was looking through them and these 1970 covers caught my eye. This is exactly the look I was trying to achieve in 1970. Hmmmmm . . . This is theme # 217 Out of Date ( and perfectly happy.)

How dare you publish the 2010, fashion plan before time, now we have to go back and rethink the whole thing. Everything old is new again.

Did we really dress like that and look it was only 25 cents!! Ron is right (just this once!!) everything old is new again. Great idea for the theme.

All the clothes I see in the stores now have that 70's look--the fabrics, anyway. Maybe these are not "out of date" but really "cutting edge".

Way too funny! And I was in High School then. Luckily I lived in the middle of nowhere in Maine. But I do remember wanting to look chic. Good composition with the pic too! I find it hard to compose multiple items to look nice. This does it for me.

That model wasn't where I was in 1970 - I wore psychedelic flowered and flared hip-hugging bell-bottoms paired with a tank top, granny glasses, and love beads. Nice memories!

Nicely done!

I remember 25¢ magazines! 39¢ hamburgers, too! I was in high school, then, too, but I was wearing jeans, boots, and cowboy hats back then. Oh, wait, I still do (but no hat)!

What a lucky woman to have a Mother that takes care of you! :D

Wonderful find. I'd love to go through that stack of magazines. I need to start knitting and crocheting again. Wonderful shot and great fit for the theme.

Did the magazine include instructions for creating that beautiful hat? LOL

Great find and shot and take on the theme. Scary if that look comes back...

Well, I think the hat is beautiful!
(not) but love your interpretation & composition! Great shot!

I got a chuckle from this shot! In 1970 my mother was insisting that I make all my school clothes and those photos reminded me of the patterns we'd buy. We were not yet allowed to wear jeans or slacks to school in 1970 so I was making dresses and Mom and I were in a constant battle when it was time to hem the dresses. I wanted "mini", she wanted knee length!
