60:365 Up on Top
The Galinburg Sky Lift has been the highpoint of a Smoky Mountains vacation for more than 50 years. The lift was actually purchased from the Sugar Bowl ski area in California in 1953 for 3000 dollars. It was then dismantled and moved to Tennessee. Been there every since. This is theme #344 Up on Top.

I don't think I could stomach an open seat such as these. The gondola cars in Tahoe are enclosed and gave me a feeling of security. I took lots of photos at the top last June. The scenery is spectacular when you get up there, isn't it?
What a wonderful way to take in the scenery! Very bright and colorful!
Love the colors in your photo...not sure I would love the ride!! Beautiful scenery.
Fantastic colors! I can feel myself rocking on the chair.
Great colors! I love riding chairlifts!
That is a really good painting but I feel unqualified to comment on paintings even if they are photo like.
Wow! What a great ride that must be! I prefer to have snow on the ground beneath when I'm riding those things though.
Your photo is great - you really get a sense of the height...
Nice shot, it took me a long time before I would ride one of those. Colors are nice and bright too.
Love all the bright colors against that gorgeous background. Beautiful shot!
I love how vibrant this is. What a fun ride it must be.
Great shot. I've ridden the lift (a few years ago). My folks live in east Tennessee and I try to visit Gatlinbug and the Smokies whenever I am there for a visit. Thanks! Greg
