110:365 Local Landmark

110:365 Local Landmark
Denny Chimes is one of the most recognizable landmarks of the University of Alabama. It was dedicated in 1929, and it plays chimes every fifteen minutes as well as on the hour. I remember sitting in boring lectures and listening for the chimes to ring. Theme #174 Local Landmark.

Wonderful shot! Grand colors, textures and composition. The sky even cooperated. :D

Nice to link memories to an object. I'm certain you didn't snap a photo back in the days you were listening to boring lectures. Now you have it to provoke fond memories. :D

How lovely! It's picture perfect. Love the color variations in the sky and the light shining down on Denny Chimes.

What a beautiful structure (and a beautiful memory - that would break up the classes)!

I like how you cropped the chimes just off center. Great shot!

At least the chimes took your mind off the boring lecture!! A bit of nostalgia in the lovely photograph.

That certainly is a landmark. Isn't it interestbeloved symbol of an institution? Very nicely done.
