196:365 Snow

196:365 Snow
Parts of Old Fall River Road in Rocky Mountain National Park are over 11,000 feet above sea level. At this altitude, there is still a lot of snow on the ground. It was a big thrill for us southerners to play in the snow and have snow ball fights in July. Theme #292.

Another place we were, too! We drove up, parked at the trailhead near the top, and hiked up to the top of Chiquita Peak...Thursday, July 9. We hit the Alpine Visitor's Center afterward...what if you were there then?? Yikes!

This is a great shot of a beautiful place! Looking forward to more of your CO trip!

Agree with you - I prefer to be warm, but snow in July is just special.

The best sort of snow is the kind you drive to and then leave behind! I'm loving tagging along on your trip

Love it. I can understand your thrill. I would love to be thrilled to be even near my beloved NW.
