296:365 Hobby

296:365 Hobby
Today is the 128th anniversary of the Gunfight at the OK Corral (October 26, 1881). What better way to celebrate but with a reenactment at Booth Western Museum. Here Virgil Earp and Frank McLaury shoot at each other in the middle of the street. Earp was wounded, but Frank McLaury wounds were fatal. I choose hobby as the theme because being a reenactor is the hobby of these cowboys and because history is one of my hobbies. I drag my husband to all kinds of reenactments. Theme #149.

284:365 Quirky

284:365 Quirky
Another shot of the camp-meeting grounds in Pine Log. There is a very quirky story about the Methodist church here. On August 31, 1886, the Reverend J.N Sullivan was laboring over a sermon on a steaming hot Georgia afternoon. The crowd was not responding. He stopped and prayed, “Lord if it takes it to move the hearts of these people, shake the ground on which this old building stands.” At the moment he concluded his prayer, a very, rare Georgia earthquake occurred shaking the floor and walls of the building. People rushed down the aisle and there was a revival in Georgia that day.

280:375 Heart's Desire
I'm back after ten days of no computer. My computer took a major nose-dive ten days ago, and I just now got it back. This theme is Heart's Desire because the nectar seems to be the heart's desire of the bumble bee, and it has been my heart's desire to get back to my blog.
