Different scenes from Paradise Gardens, the home of Howard Finster, a well-known folk artist. He took bits and pieces that he found in the city dump and fashioned them into art.

248:365 Arrow
Because of the long Labor Day Weekend, I thought that I would go back and post some photos that I made earlier this year, but, for some reason did not post them. Here's the first image. I took this photo on the Worldwide Photo Walk.

247:365 Hours, Days, Months, Years

247:365 Hours, Days, Months, Years
My grandfather had lots of ideas, and he meticulously wrote them down and saved them. He was the principal of a school, and in the 1950's he wrote down a plan to improve student achievement that was much like the No Child Left Behind program that we have today. He proposed a year-round school calendar in the late 1950's that is much like the calender that we use in Alabama and Georgia today.

His biggest idea was a Perpetual Calendar and he sent this plan to everyone including Dwight Eisenhower, John Foster Dulles, John F. Kennedy, George Wallace, and Dear Abby. It makes sense to me.

246:365 On My Table

246:365 On My Table
I posted a picture a week or so ago of coffee being poured into a cup. When I was going through the folder and deleting files, I saw this picture. Do you ever find yourself going through old picture files and finding a picture that you orginally discarded, but then you discover that you really like it? Theme #207.

245:365 Voices

245:365 Voices
Cigarette butts (and other paraphernalia) on the sidewalk; graffiti; a dented and misshapen storm drain, handbills on the message board . . . the voices of many people can be found in this doorway.

Sometimes you just happen up on subject matter. There's an old building here in town with a cool tin roof. I went to take a picture and while snooping around, I found all of these cubbyholes full of interesting stuff. Theme #332.
