155:365 Folk Art In Summerville, Georgia, there is a place called Paradise Gardens. It was the home of Howard Finster, a famous folk artist. He started in 1960 to build an elaborate sculpture garden in and around his home. His sculptures are made of cast-off junk and trash. Mr. Finster was an evangelist preacher. He loved Jesus and he apparently had a fascination with Elvis and Coca-Cola . . . a true Southern gentleman. This picture is a close-up of a self portrait that is on the outside of the chapel in the gardens. Theme #104.
