This photo was taken inside the Plains High School Museum at the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site in Plains, Georgia. This is the actual high school that Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter attended. I like this photo because the first room that I taught in looked very much like this. It had more modern desks, but it had the old chalkboard, the oiled wooden floor, and even the unfinished portrait of George Washington. At the end of my career, I was using an interactive white board connected to a computer to teach.

I have been so busy taking pictures this spring that I have some images that I really like and I have not posted them yet. This photo was taken at St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge. A willet strolls along the beach looking for breakfast from the sea. Theme #112.

The reconstruction and recovery from Hurricane Katrina has been a slow struggle in New Orleans. You still see areas that have not been rebuilt. My cousin lives in the French Quarter which was not flooded when the levies broke. The people who live there did evacuate and they were not allowed to return for some time. Rescue agencies searched each house looking for people and animals left behind. Many houses in the area have not painted over the poignant reminders left by the rescuers. Theme #126 Graffiti.

This is my granddaughter and Baby. They are constant companions. My DGD loves to hug her and dance with her and sing the song "Baby Mine" from the old Walt Disney Dumbo movie. We go nowhere without Baby. Theme #17.
