120:365 Trio
Three above-ground tombs in Lafayette #1 Cemetery in New Orleans. Lafayette #1 is one of the oldest cemeteries in New Orleans and it has been in seen in movies many times. I am sure that it is normally a very well kept cemetery, but signs said that a movie is being filmed now. The shaggy grass was perfect for picture taking. Theme #339 Trio.

119:365 Blue

119:365 Blue
My mom, sister, and I went to New Orleans to visit my cousin who lives in a beautiful Creole cottage in the French Quarter. Most of the people who live and work downtown use a bicycle as a major means of transportation. This blue bicycle was parked across the street from my cousin’s home one morning. Theme #28 Blue.

111:365 Concrete or Cement

111:365 Concrete of Cement
At the foot of Denny Chimes, there is a Walk of Fame where the captains of the football teams have placed their handprints and footprints since 1948. I tried to pick a football player that might be recognized all over the world. I can barely believe that it has been 44 years since Joe Namath was quarterbacking for the Crimson Tide. I am almost certain that his handprint and footprint have been replaced and this version is almost worn out from people fitting their hands and feet inside of his. Below is a picture of 2008's quarterback John Parker Wilson immortalizing his footprint in the Walk of Fame.

104:365 The Global Village

104:365 The Global Village
St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1931 to provide wintering habitat for migratory birds. (Thank goodness!) This Ruddy Turnstone is a highly migratory bird that breeds in the Artic north and migrates to numerous southern destinations. They find food by foraging along the beach and turning over rocks. If you will look closely at his beak, you will see that he has been hunting for breakfast. Humans need to realize that what we do in our own little area of the world doesn’t just affect one area, it affects the delicate eco-system of this whole planet upon which we live.
This is my soapbox and theme # 320 The Global Village.

96:365 How About This Weather?
Just got back from the Florida Panhandle. This picture was take in St. George Island State Park. The lack of people on the beach probably has something to do with the fact that it was colder in the Florida Panhandle on Tuesday that it was in Denver, Colorado. Spring Break fun! This is theme #153 How About This Weather?
